Conveyors and Their Functions
1. Purpose: Conveyors are used to move grain from one point to another so that it is transferred to grain storage silos, loading areas or processing facilities.
2. Structure: Conveyors generally consist of two main components:
• Belt: Uses a conveyor belt made of rubber, plastic or metal material. The belt picks up the grain from the bottom and carries it upwards or horizontally.
• Chain: Some conveyor systems use a chain mechanism to move grain. This chain ensures safe transportation of grain and is generally preferred for heavy loads.
3. Working Principle: The conveyor works with an electric motor. By rotating the belt or chain, the motor picks up the grain from the bottom and carries it in a specified direction.
4. Advantages:
• Efficiency: Transports large amounts of grain quickly and continuously.
• Low Labor: It reduces the need for labor thanks to automatic systems.
• Flexibility: Makes it possible to transport grain to different locations and heights.
5. Areas of Use: It is widely used in conveyors, grain silos, storage facilities, food processing facilities and agricultural enterprises.
APPLICATION:
Conveyors play a critical role when loading, unloading or processing grain to storage areas. The belt or chain mechanism manages grain flow in an orderly and efficient manner.
