Grain Cleaning Detailed Description

The world population is gradually increasing, and as a result of this increase, the cultivation areas of the grain group, which is one of the basic needs of people, have been expanded. With this expansion, the grain group needs to be stored long and short term. Since the grain group is not in a pure state where it is stored after harvesting, it must be separated from the foreign substances in it, namely grass, stones and sand. While the sifting process used to be done by hand in the sieve for days, now with the developing technology, systems that sift tons of grain per hour have been developed. The name of this unit is the pre-cleaning unit. The pre-cleaning unit consists of 5 main parts in general structure. The drum case is the drum, the upper chamber is the cyclone and the chassis. High-strength galvanized sheet metal is used in the main casing and upper chamber. It has high resistance to rust (corrosion). 10.9 quality bolts were used as fasteners. Bolts and nuts are dacromed coated and have high yield strength. St 37 quality black sheet metal was used for the cyclone and the parts were joined by welding. To increase resistance to corrosion, 2 layers of primer are applied and 1 layer of paint is applied on top.

What is Grain Cleaning Used for?

Grain cleaning stands out as a critical stage in agricultural production processes and is carried out in order to improve the quality of the harvested grain, ensure its storability and optimize the processing process. This important stage has a wide range of usage in the grain products industry and is applied for cleaning various types of grains (wheat, barley, corn, rice, etc.).

The grain cleaning process involves removing impurities (stones, grass clippings, stalks, seed husks, etc.) and other undesirable elements from the grain. This allows the grain to maintain its quality during storage and be processed more effectively in processing plants. Grain cleaning equipment usually includes a variety of mechanisms such as electric fans, vibrating screens, aspirators and special rollers used to separate foreign material.

This process removes dust, dirt and foreign substances from the grain, improving the quality of the product during storage and contributing to the more efficient operation of other equipment in the processing facilities. Additionally, grain cleaning improves the quality of final products, providing consumers with reliable and hygienic products.

While grain cleaning contributes to a sustainable production process in the agricultural industry, it aims to provide healthier and more reliable products to consumers by improving the overall quality of grain products produced in the food industry. Therefore, grain cleaning is a critical step to ensure quality control and improve food safety in agricultural production processes.

Grain Cleaning Usage Areas

Grain cleaning has a variety of uses across a wide range of agricultural products industries. Here are some areas where grain cleaning is commonly used:

  1. Flour and Bread Production: Grain cleaning is a fundamental stage in flour and bread production. This stage improves the quality of the flour by purifying the wheat from foreign substances and undesirable elements.
  2. Beer and Alcohol Production: Grain cleaning during the preparation of malt plays an important role in beer and alcohol production. This stage improves the quality of the malt and determines the taste, aroma and color profiles of the beverages.
  3. Animal Feed Production: Cleaned grain is used as an important material in animal feed production. Grain cleaning ensures a healthy nutritional intake of animals by removing impurities and contaminants.
  4. Food Processing Plants: Grain cleaning is applied to improve the quality of grain types used in various food processing plants. These facilities can produce, for example, pasta, biscuits or other starch-based products.
  5. Seed Production: In the production of agricultural seeds, cleaned and quality-improved grain allows the cultivation of healthier and stronger plants.
  6. Nuts and Snacks Production: Grain cleaning improves the quality of grains used in the production of various nuts and snack products and ensures that the products comply with general hygiene standards.
  7. Pulse Processing: In pulse processing plants, grain cleaning plays an important role in the processing of products such as lentils or peas.

Use in these areas indicates that grain cleaning has a wide range of industrial applications. Using cleaned grain improves the quality of products, optimizes the efficiency of processing plants and provides consumers with safer food products.
